I just heard an “I’m lovin’ it moment” on Treehouse, the supposedly advertising-free Canadian children’s channel. They didn’t actually say McDonald’s, but they played those stupid chimes. for FUCK’s sake.

I’m experiencing great joy listening to Pat Benetar’s “Heartbreaker.”

I have less and less patience for apologists.

Oh, for fuck’s sake. Maybe it’s just that I’m in a shitty (women’s)space this week, and feeling combative, but all I’m hearing over at Twisty’s this week is “WHAT ABOUT TEH TRANSPEOPLE???” and “BUT I’M NOT THAT SORT OF TRANSPERSON!”

I will fight like hell to defend everyone’s right to feel they way they want to feel in their own bodies, and to assign themselves any gender construct they want to project (even though I think “gender” should be eliminated.) But I will also fight like hell to keep those who actively work reinforce negative gender constructs from painting me as a bigot.

As a feminist, I accept that I have to embrace all oppressed, even the ones who don’t want to be “enlightened” by my utopian, post-patriarchal vision. But FUCK me if I have to be pretend to be happy about it. And FUCK me if I have to put up with being called transphobic. I will fight with you against patriarchy, but I will not stand for you fighting against me.

FUCKING hell.
